The Google search engine has become so popular that the name has become a verb by the general public. To “google” something is to look it up on the Google search engine.

The search can obviously be any particular topic you need more information on but it can be used for a world of other things too.

  • You can use it as a reverse phone directory.
  • You can find images of almost anything by using the Image tab on the main search window.
  • Google more has a translation tool that will translate foreign web pages to English
  • News
  • Scholar
  • Groups – create mailing lists and discussion groups

The Google tool bar can be downloaded to Internet Explorer to provide a number of convenient features.

  • You will have a Google search window on you IE toolbar that will save you the time of first going to the Google homepage.
  • You’ll have a pop-up blocker to eliminate annoying pop-up windows
  • You’ll have a form filler that will automatically complete forms with information that you want.
